Welcome to BIGSTAR.tv’s Online Film Festival where your 5-minute short film entry can win you $50,000! At BIGSTAR.tv we’re passionate about independent films; our library is filled with thousands of rare, foreign and independent films and is growing by the day! Our enthusiasm for independent films is not only about the final movie product but also with the movie making process itself, and the journey taken by the filmmaker. A film is a powerful tool used to express the voice of the filmmaker; we are passionate about giving new and progressing filmmakers a venue where their voices can be heard around the world. The BIGSTAR Online Film Festival is an online film contest that offers independent filmmakers an opportunity - not just to compete for life-changing prize money but to showcase their talent and exploration of a particular subject matter of their choosing.

To compete in our Online Film Festival just login to your BIGSTAR.tv account - or sign up if you don’t have an account - and upload your film of five minutes or less in any genre. Each film submission will require a $25 entry fee. Contestants are invited to enter as many films as they would like, as long as each film is entered separately with its own entry fee. Submissions will be accepted up until 11:59 EST on December 31, 2010. Our distinguished panel of judges, which includes notable names from within the film industry, has been selected to screen all film entries and narrow the competition down to 10 finalists. Entries will be judged on high quality content, technical skill and general excellence. A winner from among the 10 finalists will be chosen by a celebrity panel. The $50,000 cash grand prize winner will be announced on March 31, 2011. Be sure to review details below regarding technical criteria for submitting your film - i.e. file size, aspect ratio, etc.
