Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define by creating ‘Prometheus’, an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. Conceived as a prequel to Scott’s 1979 science fiction horror film ’Alien’, a separate story was developed that precedes the events of ‘Alien’, but which is not directly connected to the film. The plot: In the late 21st century, a star map is discovered within the imagery of Aztec, Mesopotamian and Magdalenian cultures. The crew of the spaceship Prometheus is sent on a scientific expedition to follow the map as part of a mission to find the origins of humanity. Exploring the advanced civilization of an extraterrestrial race, they soon face a threat to humanity’s very existence. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.
