ALF will be returning back to earth with a little help from Sony Pictures Animation. The production company has just closed the deal to acquire the rights to the 1980s sitcom.

Smurfs producer Jordan Kerner will help the alien come back to life, along with support from Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco.

The original sitcom was about an “Alien Life Form” that crash-landed and moved in with The Tanner family. The sarcastic character always had a liking for cats.
