WATCH: [HD] Trailer For Hard-Hitting Mob Thriller ‘THE ICEMAN’ Based On a True Story!

We’ve got an amazing trailer for you indie film lovers!  But don’t start thinking that means boring or too artsy… This here is a hard-hitting mob hit-man flick directed by Ariel Vromen featuring an all-star cast!  ’The Iceman’ stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, Robert Davi, and Danny Abeckaser.

Inspired by actual events, the movie follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men.

For years the notorious hitman Richard Kuklinski split his time between being a family man and a ruthless contract killer.  He managed to keep it a secret from his wife and children until they finally learned the truth upon his 1986 arrest.

Barbara and Richard Kuklinski. Aww…

Throughout their marriage, Richard Kuklinski seemed to be your typical suburban family man in in Dumont, New Jersey.  He was involved in the local Church every Sunday, BBQs by the pool, trips to Disneyworld , etc.  Truth is, he was a cold-blooded murderer – no pun intended.  Some in anger, some for profit, others just for fun… For 20 years, Kuklinski had made a living as one of the most prolific contract killers in the history of organized crime.

Oh and apparently he froze his victims’ bodies to dupe forensic experts, hence the nickname “Ice Man”.

This doesn’t look like Captain America?

‘The Iceman’ premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.  It also screened at the Telluride Film Festival in 2012, was released at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, and many more!

“Avengers” Breaks Opening Weekend Record

“Avengers” did a number at the box office this weekend, shattering the domestic revenue record with a remarkable $200.3 million.

This topped the previous record of $169.2 million set by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” making it the biggest opening weekend debut of all time.

The opening weekend record-breaker pushed the films’ worldwide revenue to $641.8 million, more than the other Marvel hits took home during their entire time in theaters.

Directed by Joss Whedon, “The Avengers” cast includes: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

The success of “The Avengers” was critical to Marvel’s parent company, Disney, who recently suffered from the failed release of “John Carter” a few weeks ago. Disney and Marvel spent $220 million making “The Avengers.” This budget surpassed the $170 million it took to produce Marvel’s 2010 project, “Iron Man 2.” The star-studded cast of “The Avengers” was largely responsible for the increase in cost.

Here’s how the rest of the films at the box office performed domestically this weekend:

“The Avengers” (Disney):  $200.3 million

“Think Like a Man” (Sony): $8 million

“The Hunger Games” (Lionsgate): $5.7 million

“The Lucky One” (Warner Bros./Village Roadshow): $5.5 million

“The Pirates! Band of Misfits (Sony): $5.4 million

The Avengers, After They Save The World

So what do you think The Avengers do when they’re not preventing Thor’s brother Loki from destroying Earth?

Perhaps planning the planet’s defense at S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters?

Fat chance.

They’re eating shawarma, of course… Hey, Avengers gotta eat too!
