The soundtrack is an excellent compilation of today’s artists, with a splash of the Jazz Age. If speakeasies existed today, these tracks would be on repeat.

From ‘Django’ to ‘Annie’

Jamie Foxx recently made a stunning appearance in ‘Django Unchained’ alongside his all-star cast. The actor announced today that he will be going in a slightly different direction for the remake of ‘Annie.’

Jamie Foxx will play Daddy Warbucks in the film which is directed by Will Smith. Rumors surfaced earlier in the month stating that Justin Timberlake was taking on the role, however, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Foxx is a more likely candidate. With Jay-Z also aboard the ‘Annie’ train, the film is looking like a major release for this year’s holiday season.

Beyonce Joins ‘Gatsby’

Beyonce has joined “The Great Gatsby” alongside hubby, Jay-Z. Both singers will be having songs on the track for the adaption of the 1920s novel which hits theaters May 10.

Beyonce will apparently be covering Amy Winehouse’s, “Back to Black” for the film. Since Jay-Z is producing the soundtrack for the film, it is no surprise that B ended up with a track. Rumor has it that Prince and Lady Gaga may also drop beats for the upcoming movie.

The latest ‘Gatsby’ film will give a modern twist to the classic tale of Jay Gatsby, with a a top-knotch soundtrack to go along with it.

Justin Timberlake to Star in ‘Annie?’

Move over Daddy Warbucks, Justin Timberlake is coming for you! The singer/actor is now being considered for the famed role in the upcoming rendition of ‘Annie.’

Since JT has been hanging out with ‘Annie ‘ producer Jay-Z a lot recently, it is no surprise that he landed a major role in the film. The duo will be on tour together this summer.

Timberlake will be playing Daddy Warbucks to Oscar-nominated Quvenzhane Wallis, who was recently cast as Annie after Will Smith’s daughter backed out from the movie.

Timberlake has been on a roll lately, with his new album ’20/20′ released just yesterday. His single with Jay-Z, ‘Suit & Tie’ has been on the top of the charts since its release last month.

‘Annie’ will hit theaters in the fall of 2014.

REPORT: Dave Chappelle & Chris Rock Performed Standup Comedy Together Last Night!

If you’re a fan of comedy, then you’re going to LOVE this!…

It’s being reported by “The Comic’s Comic” and several lucky individuals on Twitter that Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock performed an impromptu standup performance in the small New York comedy club, The Comedy Cellar.  Apparently Chappelle did 45 minutes of standup by himself, and just before leaving the stage, Rock joined him for an additional hour!

Rock jumped on stage and said, “Aw, you lucky mother fu@&3rs” to the audience.

Totally unrehearsed and from the hip, they had the handful of lucky people cracking up with banter about Jay-Z, The Oscars, and Seth MacFarlane.  They pulled out their phones and started texting and calling celebrities like Jay-Z, Arsenio Hall, and Lenny Kravitz inviting them to meet the duo for late night spaghetti!

They even discussed doing a comedy tour together!…

“Come out to Oakland,” Chappelle told Rock.

“You should come down to West Palm,” said Rock.

“After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years,” Chappelle replied.

Please, comedy gods, let this happen.

And if this weren’t enough to make your head explode, Marlon Wayans joined them for 15 minutes around 2:30am!

Needless to say, this was THE place to be last night and into the early morning hours.

‘Annie’ Remake Confirms Director, But Loses Willow Smith

The man behind Easy A and Friends with Benefits has confirmed that he is on board for the remake of Annie. Director Will Gluck is excited for the 21st Century version, and Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jay-Z are all supporting the production of the classic musical.

Willow Smith was set to play the lead role of Annie until she recently backed out from the film. The reason for her departure from the film is unclear. The movie will take place in Detroit, and provide a modern twist on the original story.

The studio is planning on a 2014 release date.

Robert De Niro Chews Out Jay-Z At DiCaprio’s B-Day Party

You not talking to me?? Are YOU not talking to me??

Apparently Jay-Z had promised Robert De Niro that he would do a song for the Tribeca Film Festival, which we all know De Niro heads up.  But De Niro’s six phone calls to the hip-hop mogul were never returned so he took matters into his own hands, as the straight-up guy DeNiro would.  It’s being reported that the legendary actor approached Jay-Z and his entourage at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party, then publicly chewed him out for being “disrespectful” and “that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back…that is just rude.”  SNAP!!  Beyonce even tried to intervene and Jay-Z’s only excuse was that he’s more of a “texting guy”.  But Robert De Niro did not waiver.  He was mad.  And we think rightfully so.

Can you imagine?!  We wouldn’t want to be around De Niro when he’s steaming.

What do you think of the confrontation?
