Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey Join “Guardians of the Galaxy”

The Marvel movie that teased us all at the end of “The Avengers” has critics around the country talking. Rumor has it that Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey may be joining “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The two actors will lend their voices to the film after big names like Joseph Gordon-Levitt turned down the opportunity.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” starts filmining in the UK this summer. Until then, rumors will continue to surface regarding the casting candidates.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman?

Warner Brothers’ “Justice League” movie is headed our way and Joseph Gordon-Levitt might just play Batman in the film. Since Joseph Gordon-Levitt didn’t get to suit up in “The Dark Knight Rises,” this is his time to shine.

According to Hit Flix, JGL will “absolutely” play Batman in the 2015 movie. He told Hit Flix, “You never know. If the script inspires me and if there’s a filmmaker that I respect and connect to … I’d consider anything.”

Rumor has it that the actor will being playing the role of Batman sooner than you think. JGL could make an appearance in “Man of Steel,” which will introduce fans to the “Justice League” movie.

Avengers vs. X-Men, A Big Screen Possibility?

Almost every comic fan out there has had dreams of this scenario.  Avengers vs X-Men.  A vs X.  One universe meeting another.  The minds of millions exploding with action genre possibilities on the big screen.

Not that we think FOX, who own the X-Men characters, would ever really go for this film, but X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner was recently quoted if she could see this happening and she responded with the following,

“I would love it. I would love it. I personally have close ties to Marvel because of Kevin Feige, because Kevin worked for me. But to take our characters and mingle them in the way that they were written, yeah, absolutely.”

How excited would you be if this were to happen?!?!

Could There Be Another Hulk Movie?

Source: moviefanatic.com

Marvel’s boss, Kevin Feige, has revealed his interest in possibly making another Hulk movie. Feige announced that he believes that a Hulk solo film would be just as entertaining as his appearance in ‘The Avengers.’

Marvel’s attempt to launch the solo Hulk franchise in 2003 failed, leaving the character with only his role in ‘Avengers.’

Kevin made it clear that they will not consider making another Hulk movie until after ‘Avengers 2′ is released. For now, fans should expect to see the green monster in the next movie of the ‘Avengers’ franchise.

Rumors are starting to surface that Avengers 2 might hit theaters May 1, 2015. The highly-anticipated sequel will be directed by the original film’s director, Joss Whedon.

The film’s scheduled release date is due in part to the original cast’s availability. The actors must finish filming their other Marvel projects first. Robert Downey Jr. is set to work on Iron Man 3, while Chris Evans has been booked for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Chris Hemsworth will also be starring in Thor: The Dark World.

Avengers fans can sit back and relax to see if the third top-grossing film can pull it off at the box office again.

“Avengers” Breaks Opening Weekend Record

“Avengers” did a number at the box office this weekend, shattering the domestic revenue record with a remarkable $200.3 million.

This topped the previous record of $169.2 million set by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” making it the biggest opening weekend debut of all time.

The opening weekend record-breaker pushed the films’ worldwide revenue to $641.8 million, more than the other Marvel hits took home during their entire time in theaters.

Directed by Joss Whedon, “The Avengers” cast includes: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

The success of “The Avengers” was critical to Marvel’s parent company, Disney, who recently suffered from the failed release of “John Carter” a few weeks ago. Disney and Marvel spent $220 million making “The Avengers.” This budget surpassed the $170 million it took to produce Marvel’s 2010 project, “Iron Man 2.” The star-studded cast of “The Avengers” was largely responsible for the increase in cost.

Here’s how the rest of the films at the box office performed domestically this weekend:

“The Avengers” (Disney):  $200.3 million

“Think Like a Man” (Sony): $8 million

“The Hunger Games” (Lionsgate): $5.7 million

“The Lucky One” (Warner Bros./Village Roadshow): $5.5 million

“The Pirates! Band of Misfits (Sony): $5.4 million

The Avengers, After They Save The World

So what do you think The Avengers do when they’re not preventing Thor’s brother Loki from destroying Earth?

Perhaps planning the planet’s defense at S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters?

Fat chance.

They’re eating shawarma, of course… Hey, Avengers gotta eat too!
