Ladies across the country will be flocking to the movies this weekend — and not to see Ted. The fluffy teddy bear will be competing with Hollywood’s hottest for the #1 spot at the box office this weekend.

Magic Mike debuts this weekend with its 6-pack cast which includes Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, and Joe Manganiello.

Date night will have to wait until next weekend for most, as groups of guys and gals will be meeting up to see their respective movies. For probably the first time in box office history, couples will be splitting up and then meeting up in the lobby after the movie this weekend.

This weekend’s box office is a true battle of the sexes to determine which film will end up on top. That is if they can knock Pixar’s Brave from it’s reign at the box office of course.

People Like Us will serve as the happy medium for those who do not wish to part ways at the theater.

What will it be this weekend, BIGSTAR fans? Ted or Mike?

“Ted” Takes June 29th Slot

America’s soon-to-be favorite teddy bear has snatched the June 29th slot due to Paramount’s decision to postpone the release of “GI Joe: Retaliation.”

One month prior to the scheduled release of the “GI Joe” sequel, Paramount Pictures decided that it would be best to convert the film from 2D to 3D.

Universal was quick to grab the vacant release date to introduce “Ted” to the world. The studio originally planned to release the film July 13. “Ted” will now have to compete with Sony’s “The Amazing Spiderman,” in theaters the following weekend.

“We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can [do] better box office internationally. Jim Cameron did all of Titanic’s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out”, a studio exec revealed.

From the creators of “Family Guy,” “Ted” tells the comedic story of a man and his cuddly friend. “GI Joe: Retaliation” will now be released March 2013.
