The Kerala Backwaters has existed for a millennium, yet its culture is threatened, because the younger generations are more interested in monetary pursuits than in preserving their ancestors’ traditions through rice farming; television is the catalyst for the change.
“Fuerza Aerea Sociedad Anonima“: This film shows behind-the-scenes footage of the disastrous state of civil aviation in Argentina, which is greatly due to it being entirely militarized and under the control of the Air Force since the last military coup, thirty years ago. It is based on the real life experiences of director Enrique Piñeyro, a former pilot. He acted and directed “Whisky Romeo Zulu,” a feature film that recreated the events preceding the air crash on August 31, 1999 on a LAPA Boeing 737 which burst into flames after crashing in midtown Buenos Aires, causing the deaths of 67 people.
“Abuelo“: In this heartfelt short film, we find 12-year-old Emily, who after the death of her mother would rather be left alone.
