Disney Goes Bananas

In celebration of Earth Day 2012, Disneynature will be releasing their latest documentary, “Chimpanzee.”

Narrated by Tim Allen, “Chimpanzee” tells the story of a baby chimp named Oscar who gets separated from his family in the Tai Forest National Park.

On his journey, Oscar meets Freddy, another chimpanzee who becomes his adopted father.

“Chimpanzee” will be the sixth Disneynature production. With the success of “African Cats” and “Oceans,” Disney hopes to swing from the top of the box office this weekend.

The movie debuts in theaters tomorrow, April 20. Disneynature will donate 20 cents to the Jane Goodall Institute for every ticket sold during the opening week.

Tom Hanks as Walt Disney?

Rumor has it that the voice behind Woody from the “Toy Story” series will now be playing Walt Disney himself in an upcoming film.

Tom Hanks contributed to the $2 billion success of the “Toy Story” franchise for Walt Disney Studios and they hope to have him onboard for “Saving Mr. Banks.”

The film will follow Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) on the journey of making “Marry Poppins.”

The actor who cried for Wilson in “Castaway” will join Emma Thompson in telling the story behind “Marry Poppins.” Audiences will realize that the making of this film was much more than a spoonful of sugar for Walt Disney.
