The winning film is chosen from five (5) films that receive the highest viewer rating and five (5) additional films chosen from the remaining competition by BIGSTAR.tv staff. The ten (10) films will be screened and judged on content, technical excellence, and general excellence (see rules for full details). One (1) film will be chosen by judges as the recipient of the grand prize.
When two films are tied for first place, the final judgment rests on the film with the highest rating from viewers.

After filing the required documentation, you can opt for a check or PayPal payment.
An aspect ratio of 16:9 is recommended. Resolution (image size) should be no lower than 640 x 480 pixels, and no higher than 1280 x 720 pixels.
Your bitrate should fall between 900 kbps - 2,000 kbps. The best option is to pick the highest bitrate that keeps the file under the 500MB limit.
We recommend the H.264 Codec, as it gives the best quality with the smallest file size.

All contestants must agree that their submissions are original content or are properly licensed by the original owner (this includes artwork, music, trademarks, etc). Any entry that violates this agreement will be disqualified.
Using copyrighted music or content, as well as spamming the voting system by creating fake accounts to give yourself a higher rating or giving low ratings to competing films will disqualify you from winning the competition.
Yes, your film will be streamed on BIGSTAR.tv for up to 24 months after the competition.
It may take up to 48 hours for film entries to appear in Short Film Contests.
