All revenues from sales at BIGSTAR will be shared 50/50 between the filmmaker and BIGSTAR
Unfortunately, the revenue shares are non-negotiable. BIGSTAR has done a lot of work in maintaining, building, and growing the delivery platform and supporting the users we gather. It is impossible for us to maintain a healthy profitable business with less than a 50/50 revenue share and still deliver the quality of service we are striving for.
In addition, all costs of delivering a movie to a customer, costs for the servers, costs for customer support, costs to process credit cards, costs to develop new software and features, to support latest technologies, marketing and promotional costs are all coming out of our 50% not yours. We understand that you as a producer have others to pay your staff from your revenues so we believe the 50/50 is fair.
Yes, BIGSTAR requires filmmakers to sign a non-exclusive content provider agreement.
Yes, you may distribute your movies through any other route you choose.
An aspect ratio of 16:9 is recommended. Resolution (image size) should be no lower than 640 x 480 pixels, and no higher than 1280 x 720 pixels.
Your bitrate should fall between 900 kbps - 2,000 kbps.
We recommend the H.264 Codec, as it gives the best quality with the smallest file size.
No, if you deinterlace your video it will give a better look without horizontal lines that are common on progressive displays.
After receiving your contract and content, depending on the format, it may take up to a week or two for your movie or production to appear on BIGSTAR's site for purchase.
Traffic and sales statistics from your productions will be sent out once a month (on the 15th) through regular mail.
BIGSTAR sends out monthly checks and paypal payments, depending what you select in the content provider agreement.
