What's a Roku and what does it do?

It's a little box that lets you instantly stream tons of entertainment on your TV – without a PC.

How can I use the Roku Box to watch content from BIGSTAR?

To use BIGSTAR on your Roku Box, locate the BIGSTAR.tv within your Roku Channel Store. You will find BIGSTAR in the Movies and TV section. Then register your Roku Box with your BIGSTAR account. If you do not already have a BIGSTAR account, you can sign up at http://www.bigstar.tv now!

Where do I register my Roku Box?

BIGSTAR uses a 6 digit registration code to link your Roku Box with your BIGSTAR account. To link your Roku with your BIGSTAR account, open the BIGSTAR Channel and scroll down to the 3rd row. Click on HELP/SETTINGS box next to the SEARCH.

At this menu, locate the box that says REGISTER DEVICE and click it to get full instructions plus the 6 digit activation code. Using this code, log in to http://www.bigstar.tv, and go to:

MY ACCOUNT --> MY SETTINGS

in the top navigation menu. Locate the "My Devices" section in the bottom left section of the page (may have to scroll down) and click the option to "Activate New Device." Enter the 6 digit code provided by your Roku on the following page and click the "Activate" button.

My Roku has not given me an activation code. Is something wrong?

This may be the result of customer accidentally mistyping their email address, thus accidentally linking their Roku to a wrong account.

To verify you have the correct email address on your BIGSTAR account, open the BIGSTAR channel, navigate to the 3rd row and select HELP/SETTINGS option next to the SEARCH option. You're email that your Roku is linked to will be displayed in the top right of your screen. To unlink, click the UNLINK box option and this will remove this Roku from this email account. Exit out of the BIGSTAR channel, and relaunch the Channel to re-link to a different BIGSTAR account. Follow the directions above to link and register your Roku.

Why is it asking for my PIN?

If you are asked for a 4 digit PIN code, this is most likely referring to the parental control system on the ROKU Box. You need to either disable it or put in your PIN to access the BIGSTAR channel as not all of our films have MPAA ratings.

I can't watch the movies on my tv, I need help with my Roku player!

First, make sure you have signed up for a monthly membership. A monthly membership is required in order to allow feature film playback on Roku devices. You can try our service for free for 30 days if you are new to BIGSTAR. Please verify that you have done this first.

If you are not sure what your membership status is you can find this by logging in at our website, www.bigstar.tv. Log in to your BIGSTAR account at www.bigstar.tv and click on Settings at the top of the homepage. Locate the section titled "Current Membership." In the Membership area it will tell you what membership you have and give you options to change it. If you haven't done so already, it is now time to link your Roku to your BIGSTAR account. Read above to see how this is done!

Can you have more than one Roku player on the same account per household?

Yes, you can. Register each additional Roku with a new device ID on the BIGSTAR website just like you did with the original player.

Roku is not playing movies, it's just exiting back to the menu, why?

The most likely reason is that you probably tried to sign up for a membership or free trial, but didn't complete the process and ended up with a BASIC account that has no movie playback. It's a common mistake, and is easily resolved by signing up for a Free Trial or any membership plan. To do this, go to:

MY ACCOUNT --> MY SETTINGS

and click the CHANGE option in the MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION section.

If you are confident that you DID correctly sign up, it's possible that you signed up under a different account, or maybe had a typo in your email and inadvertently linked your Roku to the wrong account. Review the information above to determine how to locate which email your roku is linked to and how to unlink/relink to the correct account.

You can always see your membership status and whether movie playback is active or not by logging to the website and going to MY SETTINGS. Active membership plans are listed under your MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION section and if you see BASIC(Free, no movie access) this means you do not have an active membership and need to upgrade. All your correctly linked devices (Roku and others) will be listed in the DEVICE MANAGEMENT section in the lower left of this page. If you don't see your Roku listed here, it's not correctly linked.
