Description
Mixing magic and comedy with romanticism, La Virgen Negra begins with Manita, who is concerned because her husband hasn't had sex with her in months. She decides to visit a mysterious woman, Lurdita, who is believed to be a witch. Lurdita asks Manita to change the virgin of the church to the black virgin. Behind everybody's back and with the approval of Isabel, the founder of the town, the black virgin becomes their new patron. Strange
...morethings now begin to happen in this fishing village changing the routine of its inhabitants: there is no longer darkness, the violence is stopped, and people fall in love again. Lurdita (who is believed to be the builder of the black virgin) leaves the town saying others might need her help.
