We know that not all projects are the same and thus we have tried to provide a range of licensing options to fit your needs. The prices and options are set by the artists which is why there are varying options per song. Here is a quick overview of the options provided:
Web: This is for all internet based video and film projects. If your only audience will be a web based audience for things like BIGSTAR.tv Contests, YouTube Streaming, Podcasting or for any other web based audience this is the option for you.
Film: If you plan to release a film on the screen and submit to film festivals and distributors this is the option for you. A short is defined as a film under 20 mins and a feature is anything over. You can always get the license for a feature and use it in a short format, in trailers, clips, and so on.
TV: For projects that you plan to release via TV or cable broadcast this is option to choose. Options range for TV commercial, a single TV Episode, and a blanket license for across the entire series and all episodes.
Single Use vs. Perpetual
A Single use means that it can only be used for the specific project specified. You define the film, project, commercial or episode in the Used For field when purchasing. A perpetual license means that the company or person that licenses the music can use it as many times as they wish for as many projects as they wish. The company or person is defined in the Licensed To field when purchasing. The perpetual use license does not allow for resale, only the ability to use the music for all the licensees projects in the category defined.
